LOS ANGELES, CA, October 4, 2021 - Willy Calderon is the mastermind behind The L.A. Impromptu Orchestra, a Los Angeles-based orchestra led by the young percussionist, producer, and mix engineer. The L.A. Impromptu Orchestra brings together over 30 of the world's most reputable artists from various Latin music genres including salsa, jazz, son and popular music collaborating for the first time on a single album. The result, L.A. Impromptu, an album that seamlessly fuses Latin rhythms to create a unique and captivating sound like no other.

“L.A. Impromptu was born from my heart, my home, my passion. I was inspired to create a band that would showcase all the talented artists on the west coast,” said Calderon. “I wanted this album to represent the best of Los Angeles and to remain a legacy of this period of time in music, of L.A, and of quality production and passion.”

“While recording Thriller, Quincy Jones told his musicians, ‘Ok guys, we’re here to save the recorded music industry.’ I believe we’re doing that for Latin music in Los Angeles. A Grammy nomination or win would cement that idea and allow us to spread our music to the world in a time most necessary to do it,” said Calderon.
